Inspired by the impressionists and cezanne's work (while on a trip to Aix en Provence) I enjoyed painting this view across a cabbage field in a tiny village in the South of France (huge apologies, I have forgotten the name of the village). I enjoyed using ochres, cadmium red and crimsons to bring across the sense of warmth I felt while painting it.
